Do you have cardboard boxes around? Let’s do some cardboard crafts today. Just an easy one like a counter will provide countless opportunity of pretend play, it can be a clinic counter, ticket counter, post office and the list goes on.

Not only pretend play is fun, it can also make the children be more imaginative and creative.

A counter made up from cardboard can be used as a payment counter. The children can have lots of fun taking turns playing cashier and customer.

It can also be used as information counter where the children can act as customer service officer helping “customer” with their enquiries.

Let the children decide what role should the counter be.

Cardboard counter may be also double up as a wayang kulit too! Mommy or daddy can be the “tok dalang” telling stories using simple puppet.

Just cover the counter with white cloth, use table lamp to lit the wayang kulit theater then dim the room. The children can take turn becoming tok dalang too.
